The year is finishing strong for Xi Home, as founder Wenjun Xiang has been recognised this week as one of CODE’s 30 under 30 for 24/25! Meanwhile, it’s dumplings as usual back in the restaurants: Xi Home Dumplings Bay Christmas and NYE specials have arrived, offering limited edition festive buns that are perfect for your seasonal treats or a unique gift for a foodie!

Xi Home Dumpling Classes & Christmas Buns

Celebrate Christmas in a unique and delicious way with Xi Home this December. Inspired by Northern China’s city of Dalian, Xi Home has produced four new sweet steamed bun styles and dumpling masterclasses available for gifting.

From the 10th December until 6th of January, visit the Spitalfields branch of Xi Home to try out their stunning seasonal specials, available to enjoy in-store or gift-wrapped to take away.

 🦌Reindeer (馴鹿): Classic custard egg yolk, offering a rich, creamy filling that’s both timeless and indulgent.
🎁 Christmas Gift Box (聖誕禮盒): Taro, with its naturally sweet and nutty flavour, brings a comforting and festive touch to the season.
🧤 Christmas Glove (聖誕手套): Matcha, featuring a subtle earthy sweetness for a sophisticated holiday treat.
🎄 Christmas Tree (聖誕樹): Homemade red bean paste, a sweet and satisfying classic that’s always a crowd-pleaser.

To heat the Xmas buns: Steam them, and after the water starts to boil (when you start to see steam coming out) keep it going for 5 mins.

If you’re a fan of gifting experiences, or just fancy a fun family activity in the run-up to Christmas, then Xi Home’s Dumpling Masterclass is for you! For £49.46 per person, dumpling novices will receive an introduction to dumplings and their origin, a step-by-step guide to dough making and fillings, a chance to make your own dumplings in two different flavours and styles, which will be cooked and enjoyed at the end of the class, personalised tips for perfecting dumpling making at home, a complimentary drink, and a well-earned certificate to show off your newly acquired dumpling-making skills.

Xi Home Dumplings Bay – NYE

To celebrate New Year’s Eve, XI Home Dumplings Bay in Spitalfields is offering a special selection of New Year’s steamed buns featuring flavours like custard egg yolk, sweet ube and taro, truffle chocolate, and custard matcha. Priced at £12 each or £44 for the set of four, these hand-crafted buns will be available online from late December.

On 31st January, guests can enjoy an array of dumplings and dishes, including spicy pork, beef with spring onion, and the unique Jade lobster dumpling. Other notable menu items include Pork Soup Bun, Sliced Beef & Ox Organs in Chilli Sauce, and Xi Home’s signature Wonton Soup. Prices for dishes range from £6.50 to £18. Be sure to savour the New Year’s sweet steamed buns as a highlight!
