Restaurant Kits: Turn Your Home Into A Restaurant For The Night

With so many restaurants closed due to the pandemic, home cooking has become more and more popular along with ordering a take away. Restaurant Kits have come to the rescue with their easy to cook DIY meal kits. All meal kits are produced by chefs from top quality independent restaurants. Joanne Mortlock discovers more..

Restaurant Kits launched back in 2020 by owners of Mac & Wild helping support restaurants during lockdown keeping them afloat. They prepare and deliver extraordinarily delicious, cook-at home-meal kits, all or which come environmentally packaged. With a wide range of culinary kits to choose from – there is something for everyone.

I tried three different DIY meal kit selections from Restaurant Kits, and all of which were equally easy to cook at home and tasted exceptional.

Kricket

This kit is easy to cook and by the end of it you will get a rich buttery chicken curry which is made with free range chicken within a makhani sauce garnished with fenugreek and ginger. Along with side dishes of burnt garlic tarka dal, fhee pilau rice, black pepper papads & mango chutney.

So, if you love Indian forget those microwave meals and ordering a takeaway in as Kricket Butter Chicken Curry is 100% better than. High quality, fresh, great portion and delicious.

Kricket’s Butter Chicken Curry kit is suitable for two people (cost £30) or four people (cost £38).

Flesh & Buns

Flesh & Buns are producers of bayo buns. They can be purchased with a steamer or without. Plus, can be purchased either with chicken or pork. I opted for chicken.

Making bayo buns was quick and easy. Simply be steaming the bayo buns, cooking the chicken and chopping the chilli I had a bayo bun in less than 30 minutes. Filled with the crispy chicken, chilli’s, BBQ sauce these bayo buns were packed full of flavour.

Packed and loaded with flavour it was time for me to get my mouth around it and wow what an explosion of flavour. The bayo buns were soft and the filling of the chicken and BBQ sauce was a real hit of flavour.

Mac & Wild

Recreating this burger in no time I had a burger just like the ones that they serve within their restaurant. Slicing, dicing and frying all was required. The burgers were lush so meaty thanks to the mix of the venison patty and beef patty along with the vegetables and condiments giving it that extra crunch and sauciness.

So, if you are looking for a great quality tasty meal then I highly recommend checking out Restaurant Kits for a range of DIY kits as each I guarantee will leave you with a smile on your face.

Mac & Wild sell their famous Venimoo burgers in a DIY form. For a kit for 2 it costs £24 and for four £32.00.
